Resurgens Orthopaedics was one of the first companies for whom I ever worked. As an intern at ECG Productions, I wrote commercial copy for them, ran the teleprompter, and promised that one day I would be the one directing their commercials. I eventually realized that goal, conceiving of a “nexus” of animated hexagons to connect the series of vignettes that were designated to comprise the spot.

It remains one of the most visually distinctive commercials for the brand, and completing it taught me a great deal about back-and-forth between editor and animator.
